We are extremely pleased to announce the reprinting of a Tony Hillerman's children's book, illustrated in color by Navajo artist Ernest Franklin, long associated with Hillerman's work. The story is a reworking of the Grimm Fairy Tale, The Bremmen Town Musicians, with some tongue in cheek humor, whimsical art and a much more satisfying ending. The book is hardbound, 32 pages, with pictorial dust jacket and published in a small printing. There are a handful of signed first editions still available at $100.00 published by Buffalo Medicine Books. We also carry the reprinted version at $65.00 signed. A limited edition of one hundred signed and numbered copies were published at $250 each. These are signed by Tony Hillerman and Ernest Franklin on a pictorial limitation page, specially bound and slip cased, and include an original watercolor by Ernest Franklin bound in the book. A handful of copies are still available. Twenty-six signed super limited editions were offered for $1000 each. Like the limited editions they are signed by Tony Hillerman and Ernest Franklin on a pictorial limitation page, specially bound and slip cased. These also include an original watercolor (13 ½ X 16 ½ in size) used in the production of the book. The watercolor is custom matted with a cutout motif appropriate to the southwest subject matter. Framing will be left up to the buyer. Many of these were sold and several were destroyed in our recent fire. The remaining two original watercolors are shown here.
